Top 10 Authors

Here are my top ten authors in no particular order & my favorite book of theirs with the amazon purchase link!

James Patterson – Sam’s Letters to Jennifer

Molly Mcadams – Nightshade (Redemption #3)

Staci Hart – Love, Hannah (Austen Series #3)

Kandi Steiner – Weightless

Brittainy C. Cherry – The Silent Waters (Elements #3)

Tarryn Fisher – Mud Vein

Colleen Hoover – Slammed (Slammed #1)

Meagan Brandy – Boys of Brayshaw High (Brayshaw #1)

Kennedy Ryan – Long Shot (Hoops #1)

R. S. Grey – Scoring Wilder

Admittedly, it was extremely hard for me to choose just 10 authors I loved, because I have found very few books I don’t like and even when I have had a book I didn’t like, it usually wasn’t until the ending. It was even harder to choose my favorite books by these authors, some of them, like Nightshade and Scoring Wilder, both books vastly different, were easy to pick out of their list. I hope, if you’ve yet to read one of these books, that you click the amazon link and give the books a shot.

Do you have an all time favorite book or author that you haven’t seen on my blog yet? I’m always open to recommendations and would love to hear what you like!

Wild Card (Roseville Ramblers #1) by Staci Hart [Review]

Wild Card (Roseville Ramblers #1)
Staci Hart
April 5, 2024

The hot baseball player I’m forced to stay with for my best friend’s wedding is off limits.

Remy Winfield has more muscles than manners, and he’s on a mission to get me into bed by way of the filthiest mouth I’ve ever wanted to kiss. He doesn’t care about my long time crush or my certainty that we’re finally about to happen.

Remy’s sure I’ll break first and kiss him, and he’ll tease me to the limit to make sure I do. I might be a Lady, but I can still play his dirty little game. It’s perfectly safe, totally harmless.

Until I fall for him.

Suddenly, Mr. Long-Time Crush doesn’t matter at all.

And my best friend can never know.

Boy, does Staci Hart know how to make a come back. It’s been a good while since we’ve had a Staci Hart release and when I saw her post that she’d been writing, add in that it was a baseball, best friend can’t know, kind of story I knew I had to have it and that I would do anything to get my hands on this baby. And when I tell y’all that Staci did not disappoint, she absolutely did not.

Diving into this book brought me so much joy, not just because Staci was finally back, but also because I grew up watching baseball with my family and to read about Jessa going to her first game was everything. Honestly, and I know I say this a lot, but this book was everything.

When we first meet Jessa and Remy, there is a bright red Do Not Cross line, mostly drawn by Jessa herself. Over time, that line starts to blur. The steam between these two characters was exactly the right amount to have. Jessa comes to Tennessee for her best friends wedding and one of the aunts in charge of sleeping arrangements for the duration of their visit accidentally put Jessa with Remy, which would be…okay…if she wasn’t set on finally getting her life long best friend to realize they’re meant to be together. Let’s not forget that Remy lives in a run down cottage and as a single man its easy to figure out he doesn’t keep his house clean. But, as always the lines blur and soon enough Jessa doesn’t know what she wants because that fake relationship they enter? Yeah, those lines blur too.

I don’t know about y’all, but I live for these kind of stories. I know we all have our own preferences, but as someone who has recently dove into the fantasy world, I can say for certain that I will always love these mostly easy going love stories. Not every book needs to have tears, death or so much drama our heads and hearts explode. Over the years, as I’ve gone down Staci’s list of books, she has dragged every emotion out of me, that I’m sure of. But this new Staci? Yeah, she might be my favorite and I can’t wait to see what comes of the rest of the series.

Staci has been a lot of things up to this point in her life: a graphic designer, an entrepreneur, a seamstress, a clothing and handbag designer, a waitress. Can’t forget that. She’s also been a mom to three little girls who are sure to grow up to break a number of hearts. She’s been a wife, even though she’s certainly not the cleanest, nor is she the best cook. She’s also super, duper fun at a party–especially if she’s been drinking whiskey–and her favorite word starts with f and ends with k.

From roots in Houston to a seven year stint in Southern California, Staci and her family ended up settling somewhere in between and equally north in Denver, where snow is magic and the mountains have become home. When she’s not writing, she’s reading, gaming, or designing graphics.

Molly grew up in California but now lives in the oh-so-amazing state of Texas with her husband, daughter, and fur baby. When she’s not diving into the world of her characters, some of her hobbies include hiking, snowboarding, traveling, and long walks on the beach … which roughly translates to being a homebody with her hubby and dishing out movie quotes. She has a weakness for crude-humored movies and fried pickles, and loves curling up in a fluffy comforter during a thunderstorm … or under one in a bathtub if there are tornado’s. That way she can pretend they aren’t really happening.

Linger (Rebels #4) by Molly McAdams [Review]

Linger (Rebel #4)
Molly McAdams
October 3rd, 2023
Cover: RBA Designs

I’ve always known where I ranked in every aspect of my life.

Parents? Not the favorite twin.

Military? Dangerous scapegoat.

Women? Practically a god—they’re welcome.

Mafia? Irreplaceable member of the family.

When Willow Bennett moves into our little town, I find that confidence rocked for the first time by how guarded she is.

But that secretive smile and those dancing eyes keep drawing me back to her as if falling in love isn’t a danger I never wanted to put on anyone.

And now that danger is knocking on our door. Demanding atonement for a choice my family made years ago. Attempting to ruin the peace we’ve been living in.

Threatening to destroy everything.

But in our world, rebellions aren’t a phase; they’re an oath. A way of life.

And I’m the unassuming Rebel you need to watch out for.

Nearly every word out of my mouth might drip with sarcasm, but that doesn’t diminish my aim. More than that, you can’t escape me because I’m a bloodhound.

The name’s Diggs.

There’s nothing and no one I can’t track down. If I’m looking for you, you might as well start praying because I’m about to be the last thing you see.

“I’m a mother fucking bloodhound baby.”

Y’all.
When I tell you that this book was everything we’ve been waiting for and more, I mean that with every part of me. I know I say this with every book Molly releases, but this is it. This is the one we’ve been waiting patiently for, I mean as far as Molly knows I’ve been patient, but this series? It is hands down my favorite and I’d likely kill to have more words from these characters for ever.

Diggs has been one of my wish list characters since we met him in Firefly. When Limit ended and we thought it was the end of the Borellos forever, I was devastated to think we’d never actually see his happy ending. I love his witty and occasionally innapropriate comments, the love he has for his family and how he protects others. If you’re caught up on the whole series, whether it be with Linger or not, then you know what happens in Limit and that had me on the edge of my seat, but nothing like this book. Molly absolutely gutted me this and I will absolutely be revisiting these characters again in the future, I can never stay away for too long.

Willow is honestly perfect for him. I honestly don’t think we could have asked for a better person for Diggs to end up with. I mean who else is going to support Diggs love for food like Willow does? Or walk into a room full of mafia and be okay with it? Especially someone like Kieran? He is one scary mother fucker. But it’s no surprise that I love him, forever my favorite character.

I know I said it already but when I tell y’all that Molly absolutely gutted me with certain scenes in Linger, I mean that with every fiber of my being. The amount of times I said “no!” surpass the messages I sent her while reading this book. I stayed up until 4:30 in the morning to finish this book because I knew if I didn’t I wouldn’t be able to focus at work the next night. I was in denial for the last good chunk of this book and finally admitted what had taken place actually happened, but I didn’t fully acknowledge that until I read “the end”

Overall, Molly blew it out of the water with this book. Very much worth the wait and the agony.

I laughed at Diggs love for food.
How much him and Einstein fight over scones.
His love for his family.
His witty comments.
His sometimes inappropriate comments.
His eventual realization of the depths of his feelings for Willow.
Every time Maverick and Diggs get ready to fight a new round of enemies and ask “you alive?”
His agony over thinking he’s the only reason something happened.
Willow.

I honestly could not have asked for a better story or a better author to create such a world. And I can’t wait to see what else Molly’s devious mind comes up with next.

Monster Reader Retreat

If y’all don’t know by now, Molly McAdams is one of my favorite authors, back in March she announced that she was going to do a reader retreat at the Plantation House Boutique Inn, located in Austin, TX. If you’ve followed her for a long time, you’ll know this was the house where her and her husband were married. Since then, it’s become the boutique bed and breakfast, which is also the inspiration behind Blossom Bed and Breakfast in her Brewed series. I was one of the lucky ones able to go to this retreat and I do not regret a single second of it, even if I did stay up for over 24 hours twice, due to traveling. If ever given the chance to visit the Plantation House Boutique Inn, I highly recommend it. ‘The Inn Keepers’ also known as Norris and Luanna Cole are two of the sweetest people I’ve ever met. Luanna, also known as Luey, cooks up a delicious breakfast every morning and will always meet everyone’s dietary needs, and if you’re a coffee drinker, there are Nespresso machines on each floor. One located in the hallway on the second floor, and one located in the loft room, as well as three regular drip coffee makers located in the kitchen and a separate hot water heater for tea drinkers. There are 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a stunning kitchen, equally stunning front porch and back yard with a nice sized in ground pool, fire pit, and a covered patio to enjoy your morning coffee. The parlor, where there is a beautiful dining table and living room are also beautiful places to spend time. Don’t worry about not finding somewhere to sit, there are multiple chairs and couches. Although this wasn’t a signing like the other ones on this page, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to gush about this house, click on the link above to see about availability or contact the owners.

Stealing Chances (A Taking Chances Alternate Universe)

What would you do if you woke up to a different life?
Because that’s what happened to me.
Woke up in a hospital bed with my family and friends telling me everything I knew was nothing more than a coma-induced dream.

The girl I love. The baby we’re having . . . all of it ripped away.
In their place is a house I don’t recognize and a girl I’ve never seen before who’s claiming she’s my fiancée.

To everyone around me, it’s clear my mind twisted around my real life to create a false one. As weeks pass and a few crucial memories return, it’s easy to see they’re right. Now I’m terrified about what I’ll learn next.

The last thing I remember before waking up in the hospital was losing the girl I loved and breaking her heart. Even though it’s the one thing no one can connect to my real life, it’s the one thing I can feel is true.
But I’ve just started falling in love with my fiancée all over again, and I’ll do anything to keep that memory from turning into my reality

Please please read at your own risk as this is an alternate universe of Chase’s life from Taking Chances and Stealing Harper. This review will have spoilers in it for those two books and as always, you can read this as a stand-alone but my recommendation is to be ripped apart first.

Chase freakin’ Grayson is back.

I never ever thought that we would get to read about Chase again, considering everything that happened with him and Harper in Taking Chances and reading his devastating fate at the end of Stealing Harper. But y’all, when I tell you I opened Facebook and saw that Molly surprise released Stealing Chances and that it was Chase, back from the dead and living a different life than we all saw? I quite literally, in the middle of a regular conversation with my sister, yelled out “no the fuck she did not!” And immediately one clicked it.

Let me tell y’all from my perspective, Molly did not disappoint me. I know a lot of people are probably upset about this release given the way we all suffered over chapter 13, but I devoured this book and think it’s absolute perfection. If you’ve read Taking Chances, then you know the tragic way that Chase dies, which means you also sobbed your way through the ending of Stealing Harper.

When Chase wakes up disoriented and in immense pain, in a hospital bed, what he thought was the life he was so very close to leaving, is not his life at all. The girl claiming to be his fiancé is not the one from his coma-induced memories, and the one who he thought he loved? She’s married to his best friend, someone who he considers his brother. The memories he has of everyone else? They’re from that time, two years ago. The first thing he says to his sister is about her hair being different. Luckily, he remembers his friends and family, just not the woman he was planning to spend the rest of his life with.

Part of the mystery of this story is wondering what it was Chase was doing right before the accident that should have killed him. Did he cheat on the woman he’s slowly falling back in love with? Did he do the things he’s remembering piece by piece? And when the person banging on the glass in his head finally breaks it, will what he finds out wreck him to the core?

To say this is one of the books I’d recommend to anyone is not a lie. I sometimes talk to random strangers and end up handing them pieces of scrap paper with a list of my favorite authors and Molly is always on that list. Seriously, one click this book right now, but if you want the full effect that the rest of us got? Buy Taking Chances and Stealing Harper first, along with a box or five of tissues.

Northern Stars (Compass #4) by Brittainy Cherry [Cover reveal]

Northern Stars (Compass #4)
Brittainy Cherry

Cover ModelSam Myerson

Hollywood’s biggest star first belonged to me.

Breaking up with your high school sweetheart was one thing.
Breaking up with a famous Hollywood actor? That was a different situation.

I’d been in love with Aiden Walters since I was a little girl. We’d grown up as neighbors in our small town. He was my first love, and I was his. I was there when his career took off, and I was certain I’d always be a part of his life.

But just when his Hollywood star began to really shine, the internet blew up with the news of his real-life girlfriend at home. When I realized he was spending more time defending me than focusing on his career, I did the only thing I could do – I let him go.

Five years later, he was back home staying in the only hotel in our small town. Of course, it was the one I managed. I was forced daily to see the man whose heart I’d broken all those years ago.

The man who now resented me.
The man who grimaced with annoyance every time he looked my way.
The man who swore he’d never speak to me again.

It was clear that I was now his sworn enemy. Still, during our arguments, I saw the sparks of the boy I grew up loving. I craved his warmth, his touch, and the feelings that we once had.

I had to remind myself daily of why I ended things with him in the first place. Otherwise, I’d find myself falling in love with him all over again. Only this time, I was certain that if I fell, he wouldn’t be willing to catch me.
